Thirteen final acceptors for the Chelmsford Stakes include Gloaming, Ballymena, Director, and Bonaparte. The only one carrying a heavier weight than Gloaming is Kivoli, with 9.11. Farceur was scratched. Nigger Minstrel is credited with the fastest time in this morning’s gallops at Randwick. In a' seven-furlong spin on the middle grass track, in company with Ballymena, he covered the first half-mile in 49Jseo, and the full distance m lmin 28}seo, the colt beating Ballymena by half a length. The performance is considered particularly good, in view of the fact that the rain had taken the fire out of the track. Gloaming took lmin 29£sec. The Cypher has sufficiently unproved to exercise on cinder tracks. His strained tendon is again apparently normal, and it is hoped he will be able to fulfil his Randwiok engagements. Greenwood, expressing the desire that Gloaming be sent to Melbourne for the Cup m Mr §reenwood is favourable to the proposal, if it is found possible.
