One. of the British soldiers wounded at Queenstown has succumbed. The War Office announced that one officer was seriously wounded, aiid that seven men were dangerously, six seriously, and three slightly wounded. Five civilians, of whom two aro women, were wounded. Details of the affair show that a large high-powered motor-car, containing four men dressed as Free State officers, drove to the pierhead at 7 o’clock in the evening, apd without warning the men opened fire with ma-chine-guns. A party of about 50 people, mostly British soldiers, had JWt fancied from Spike Island in a military launch. The men in the motor-car centred their attention on the soldiers, and then raced out of the town, firing as they went at the destroyer Scythe, but they failed to hit it. REWARD OF £IO,OOO.
