YESTERDAY’S SITTING. POLICE AND SUMMONSES OASES. Mr E. Page, S.M., gava judgment at yesterday’s sitting of the Magistrate’e Court. A /first offender for insobriety was fined ss, in default 24 hours’ Imprisonment. An elderly woman, named Myra Donaldson, alias Cooper, was charged with begging alms. The accused said she had been unable to obtain work on account of her age. Hie Worship derided to give her a chance, and convicted and ordered her to come up for sentence if oaUed upon within 12 months, a condition being that she leave the town and obtain work. SUMMONS CASES. The following defendants appeared on summons at the Magistrate’s Court yesterday: For unlawfully delivering possession 'of a firearm, Frank Mortimer was fined £1 and costs. For failing to close has shop at 9 o’clock C. R. Mansell wa« fined £3 and costs.
