ROYALISTS PARDONED
GREECE MORE TOLERANT. NEWSPAPER BAN MAY LIFT. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association (Received January 28, 8 pm) LONDON, January 27. The “Daily Express” Athens correspondent says that the death sentences on Generals Gargaladis and Leonardopulos has been commuted to five years’ imprisonment. Eightv-six officers have been pardoned. The Government is further considering raising,a ban on all Royalist newspapers which have been suppressed since the rising.
