COSTLY CELEBRATION. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, January 28. Alfred James Massey, a second offender for drunkedness, pleaded in extenuation of the charge that he met some friends celebrating “Bill” Massey’s coming back from England, and got drunk. Massey, who did not claim any relationship with the Prime Minister, 6aid he had a job to go to in the country. The magistrate refused leniency, and imposed a fine of £2, and issued a prohibition order against defendant.
