FISHING AT TAUPO
MAGNIFICENT CATCHES. TWENTY AND A-HALF POUNDER LANDED. (By Telegraph.—Special to the "Times. ') TAUPO, January 28. Fishing has not been good at Taupo for some weeko past, but though the fish have been scaice they are for the most part larger and in better condition than at Gilbert’s. On the Taupe side of the lake, Waitahauui is the only point at which fish are being taken. A Rocorua party, who fished ax. Waitahanui all night on Saturday, secured amongst their catch one twenty and a-half pounder, one seven teen pounder and one sixteen and a half pounder. Some good catches including magnificent fish have been made at Tonganro, Taupo, and at the Tongariro on tlve other side of the lake.
