STRIKE AFFECTS MARKETS. The Bank of New Zealand, produco department, has received the following advice from its London office, under date January 25th:— Butter—Slow. 201 s to 206 s per cwt; exceptionally, 208 s per cwt. Cheese.—Slow. White, 102 s per cwt; coloured, 10fe per cwt. Strike accentuates dullness of markets. Frozen meat—The market for wethers has declined, and there is a very poor demand at present. It is thought that prices for ewes have reached the top. The demand for lamb is still poor. Ox beef is in better demand, but there is very little inquiry for cow. Wethers, light, Bd to 84d per lb; heavy, 6d to 7Jd per lb. ewes, sfd to 7d per lb; lambs, under 42’s, 9Jd to lid per lb; over 42’s, 9d to Hd per lb; seconds, 9fd to 10Jd per lb; new season’s, 12d to 12fd per lb; Australian, 9fd to 10Jd per lb; Argentine, Bd to lOd per lb; ox, hinds, 4d to 4Jd per lb; ox, fores, BJd to 3|d per lb; cow. hinds. 3fd to 4d per lb; cow, fores, 3d to 3J<i per lb.
