DISASTROUS DROUGHT
GREAT LOSSES OF STOCK. FARMERS IN DISTRESS. Australian and N.Z. Cqfole Association. (Received January 27, 11.50 p.m.) CAPETOWN, January 27. There is an unprecedented, drought in portions of the Free State and Western Transvaal, which is causing great losses to the stock and crops. The position is aggravated by visits of locusts, and the farmers are in great distress, but it is anticipated that the Government will take immediate action with a view to enabling them to cover the bonds eo as not to lose their farms.
