EASTBOURNE FERRY
TRAFFIC RETURNS. Returns were submitted to Eastbourne Borough Council’s last meeting in regard to the running of the ferry boats for the month of December. In regard to th© Muritai were: —Passengers 66,751 (51,632); trips 118 (106); distance steamed 1790 miles >1695); oil consumption 96 tons (79.37), or .838 ton per round trip. Figures in parentheses are for the preceding month. Duchess: —-Passengers 4832 (48,051) ; trips 16 (106), miles 240 (1605), oil 19 tons (89 tons). Cobar: —Passengers 34,999 (33,677): trips 199 (157) ; miles 2985 (2430); oil 93.5 tons, or .47 ton per round trip. Revenue on the boats showed an increase of £713 15s 3d over tfie corresponding months in 1922.
