" The “Daily Telegraph’s” Paris correspondent reports that a big debate lasting a week promises to be held over M. Poincare’b drastic financial pro"posals. \ “It is expected that M. Poincare will maSe each item a question of confidence in the Entente Republicaine. The chief Government Party, numbering 170, has decided to support the proposals, provided that economies are adopted first. Most of the Left parties are proposing a series of amendments, but the Government is expected to withstand the assaults, as the balance of opinion , in - the Chamber appears to favour the ' proposals.

EXPORT FORBIDDEN. PARIS, January 24. The Minister of Agriculture has issued a decree forbidding the exportation of butter until April. This has relieved the shortage of butter and —au ilk.
