SAILORS’ FRIEND SOCIETY

Sir, —Knowing thafc several of our supporters have rebuked me for making a second appeal for funds for our picnios for seafarers on Christmas, Boxing, New Year and Anniversary Days, will yon most kindly permit me through your influential columns to eay that we have made no appeal other that you permitted a few days ago. This has been the course adopted by us for the past twenty years or more. You are, of course, awaw that we never resort to street appeals in the furtherance of our ■work. Thanking you very warmly in anticipation. JAS. MOORE, Missioner. 18/12/1923.
