NEARLY 70,000 FACTORIES.
OFFICIAL ESTIMATE.
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association (Received October 30, 5.5 p.m.) TOKYO, October 20. According to official returns, 60,962 factories were destroyed by the earthquake. The loss by fixe is estimated at 380 million yen. In all. 71,388 factory hands arc said to be affected.
