CROQUET
WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION.
The fourth annual meeting of the Wellington Croquet Association was held on Monday afternoon. Lady Luke presided.
The report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. The latter disclosed a very satisfactory credit balance. The resignations of Petone and Khandallah clubs were received with regret. In response to a request from the Wellington Carnival Association it was decided that each club should run a tournament on its own lawn for one day during carnival week, the proceeds to be forwarded to the carnival committee. It is proposed to hold the association tournament m February, 1924, starting on February 7th.
Mr Pollock, of Seatoun, generously donated two gold stars for competition amongst the clubs affiliated to the association.
The election of officers resulted as follows : —President, Lady* Luke; vicepresidents, Mesdames McDonell, McVilly, Bennett, G. Hendry, Cook, Chisholm. Johnson, Hollard. George, L. McKenzie, Williams, Wilford, W. Strand, Teagle, McGirr, Brown, Moran, L. T. Watkins; hon. secretary, Mrs Earl McKenzie; lion treasurer, Mrs F. Wilkinson
