October 28A curious parallel to the Biblical story of the Gadarene swine occurred near St. Louis du Rhone, where the ■railway runs through a cutting 300 ft deep. A herd of wild boars readied the cutting, and the leader misjudged the ground, and jumped from the rocks to the line, followed by the rest of the ■herd. All were killed, and the carcases blocked the line. Finally the meat was loaded on trains, an divided among railway emploj'ees along the line.
