REGATTA CLUB
FIRST ANNUAL MEETING. The first annual meeting of the Wellington Regatta Club was also held last night, Mr A. W. Newton presiding over a good attendance. In the course of his remarks to ffhe meeting, tho chairman stated that the year had Ilmen a satisfactory one, which_ht»d resulted in a credit balance of £25 Is 4d. This was chiefly duo to generous donations eiven by various sporting bodies in The membership now stood at 114. The report and balance-sheet wer© unanimously adopted. It was decided by a good majority that the regatta should bo held a week previous to the championships regatta. The secretary (Mr Whitaker) was voted a honorarium of £o.
