WORKS REPURCHASED
REORGANISATION SCHEME

Finality was reached to-dav to the jnany meetings held durjng the past year f°r the purpose of reorganising the Taranaki banners’ Meat Company. The terms of the Bank of New Zealand been accepted for the repurchase of the works at a total of £I3S,(XX), payable in instalments, and the directors were authorised to proceed with tho allotment of sixty thousand preference shares, of which fifty thousand haye already been subscribed. The canvass is to lie continued for the balance of the money. A new board of directors was elected, including a strong infusion of Now Plymouth business men, who. as a citiaena’ committee, played a big part in reorganising the company. The directors also include mr \Y. D. Hunt, manager for Wright, SH-ephenson’a. who has been appointed the bank’s representative, and Mr John vS. Connett was elected chairman. Much enthusiasm was shown by a large attendance of shareholders, and : everything is being done to ensure tl|c success of the reconstructed concern.
