At a meetin4*._of the Canterbury Cricket Association to-night it was decided to write to the Wellington and Auckland Associations suggesting that the Canterbury v. Wellington matclj bp played at Wellington at New Year, and the Canterbury v. Auokland match at Auckland the following week. MERCANTILE LEAGUE MACKY, LOGAN v. KIRKCALDIJB AND STAINS. The cricket match between Macky, Lr>gan aid Caldwell and Kirkcaldie and Stains team* resulted in a win for the former by 15 runs on tho first innings scores. Mack;-, Logan and Caldwell compiled a total of 90 (Laurenson 37, C. Tilyard 14, H. Marsh 111 and ICirkcaldie and Stains 75 (Borough 30, Harnett 14). For the winners Young took six wickets for 18 runs and Tilyard three for 46, ■wihile for the losers Plant secured six for 39 and Pandy two for 26. PRESS MATCH "POST" DEFEATS “NEW ZEALAND TIMES?/’ A match, played at Newtown Park between teams representing "The Evening Post” and) "The New Zealand Times/’ was won by "The Post" by 4 rune. Sooros: “The Post," 84 (A. C. Chorlton 30, R. D. Roberts 18, R. Hornblow 17, C. Nick less 11). "New Zealand Times,” 90 (Coleman 41 not out. Mummery 29). Bowling: For "The Post," Chorlton took five wi.'kets for 17 runs. Loader two for 81, and Roberts two for 2. For "New Zealand Times." Forde took five for 48 and Coleman four for 27.
