Britain has received the French assent to the international committee, but it is generally admitted that tho nature of it puts a full dress conference on reparations out of tile question. Tho next step expected is the Reparations Commission to invito American and the Allied Governments to sit on tho proposed committee. PURELY ADVISORY. The Paris correspondent says it is emphasised that the committee of inquiry into Germany’s capacity to pay is purely advisory, and the Reparations Commission is not bound to adopt its recommendations. ITALY FAVOURABLE PROPOSAL ACCEPTABLE. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received October 2!), 12.45 a.m.) ROME, October 28. It is semi-officially reported that Italy lias favourably replied to the British proposal regarding the invitation to the United States to collaborate with the Allies in finding a solution of the reparations problem.
