STRIKE PLEBISCITE. SIX-HOUR DAY DEMANDED. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright SYDNEY, October 27. Tho council of the Miners’ Federation has decided to take a plebiscite of the organisation to decide whether the whole of the members throughout the Commonwealth shall «rtrike on January let :n the event of the owners refusing a six-hour day, five days a week, abolition of the contrac t system, and installation of modern safety appliances. Tho Alines Council has also decided to request the Government to compel the owners to open tho mine© which havo boon dof-eil.
