WORKMEN’S LUCKY ESCAPE
FOULING OF ELECTRIC WIRE,
While builders were engaged in setting in place a ljin suspension rod for a hanging verandah on a new shop in Cameron street, Whangarei, the iron fouled an electric wire. In a few moments the rod was burned half through, hut -the curious faet is that neither of the two workmen at the time ill contact with the rod sustained more than minor shocks, despite the high voltage of the wire which it fouled. Experts consider that it was an inexplicable and. wonderful escape.
