SPRING IS HERE
VERDURE-CLAD SUBURBS. The suburbs of Wellington have now assumed a regular spring appearance, if such a term may be used to express the freshness and delightful re-uppear-ance of greenery that is marking the gardens which lie on all sides of the hills enclosing the Empire City. On Saturday afternoon householders in many areas were to be seen clipping and tidying their lawne and gardens respectively, and one may now walk through areas of greenery which has for the past few monßis been most conspicuous by its absence. Now, however, spring is literally in the air, although in certain directions it has manifested itself for several weeks it has now left little doubt ais to its advent. The Hutt Valley has likewise clothed itself in a green coat, the narrow muddy lanes which a few months ago were damp and dull, now* being overhung with heavyladen branches which impart a restful air as well as an aroma which only comes with those months preceding summer.
