TRAIN FATALITY
LEVEL GROSSING SMASH MOTHER KILLED AND CHILD INJURED. CART DRIVER BADLY HURT. Per Press Association. (Extraordinary). AUCKLAND,- October 28. A fatality occurred at the George street level crossing at about 9.30 tonight, the outward bound Henderson train crashing into a milk float. Mrs J. A. Burt, of Rocky Nook, aged 45, was killedHer son Donald, aged seven, received severe injuries to the leg and shock. The driver of the float, John Taylor, aged 51, a dairyman of Morningside, received general injuries and head in-
juries. His condition is serious. Mrs Burt and the child were being given a lift in the float which was smashed. Strange to say the horse was uninjured.
