REPARATIONS ISSUE
ANOTHER CONFERENCE?
FRANCK-AGREES IN PRINCIPLE TO SUGGESTION. CONDITIONS IMPOSED. By Telesranh.—Press A«sn.— Copyri&bt Australian and N.Z. Cable Aeeociatloo. (Received October 26, 7.50 p.m.) LONDON. October 26. The “Daily Telegraph’**’’ political observer says: ‘‘lt is now certain that the French and Belgian replies to the British suggestion of a new conference on the reparations question botli contain acceptance of the idea in principle, but with the limitation that the conference must be convened as a committee under the Reparations Commission, whose authority, created by the Versailles Treaty, must remain complete and unchallenged. “Both Governments have deemed it their duty, as loyal allies of Britain, to leave Vo doubt regarding their intentions. It is understood the same objection will bo made against any proposal to create a commission of experts, independent of the Reparations Commission.
Lord Curzon had a conference with the Belgian Ambassador. It is understood that Lord l Curzon will shortly make a statement to the Imperial Conference or to Cabinet regarding the new aspects of the foreign situation.
