SOUTHERN FARMERS
SEASON'S PROSPECTS
Tho Minister for Education (the Hon. G. J. Parr), who returned to Wellington yesterday frqm a Ministerial visit to the South Island, remarked in the course of a conversation with a “Times” reporter upon the splendid appearance of the farm lands in Canterbury and Southland. The grass and crops had oome forward with wonderful growth, he said, and the lambing season had been excellent. So far as lambing was concerned, the remarkable feature was the number of “twins” that had been born. Mr Parr predicted a very successful season for the farmitig community, especially for those, who were engaged in dairying in Southland.
