THE MURITAI
SATISFACTORY TRIAL TRIP
Particulars with reference to the trial trip of the Muritai were given to the Eastbourne Borough Council last night, in a communication from Mr R. Y. Constable, who had advised the council in this matter.
He considered the trial very satis factory, and said the fuel consumption was under the estimate of the builders.
“Regarding the measured mile (one knot), 6080 feet was measured in the first place when laid out in my presenoe,” he said, “and in the 6econd trial was again checked by me, and I oan vouch for the same being a true distance.” Mr Constable added that at a future date he intended giving further particulars for record purposes, which would be of use to the council's officers. The trial referred to took place on October Ist.
