ACCIDENT AT HUTT
COUPLE KNOCKED DOWN BY CAR.
As a result of a motor-car running into a crowd of picture-goers making their wav home from a Lower Hutt picture tlieatre <sn Tuesday night, Mrs Harris, of 181 ,Karori road, and Charles Jenkins, a jockey, of Porirua, were admitted to the Wellington hospital early yesterday morning, both suffering from slight injuries. ft is said that the motor-car causing the damage in some unaccountable manner appeared to get out of control, and dashed amongst a knot of people on the road, with the above result. Mrs Harris received minor induries only. Jenkins, however, being cut about the head. A car was requisitioned, and the injured pair brought into the Wellington hospital, where they were admitted at 1.30 a.m. yesterday morning. Both are reported to be progressing »- well as can be expected.
