WHY HAWKE'S BAY BEAT AUCKLAND!
At the War Memorial football match in Auckland recently, when 22,000 spectators witnessed that brilliant match between Auckland and Hawke’s Bay, the visiting team, after a strenuous game, managed to win by seventeen points. Unfortunately, the weather was somewhat inclement during their stay, and some of the members of the team developed colds. It is rather remarkable that after the team loft Auckland Mr L. R. Freeman, the genial proprietor of the Albert, Hotel, in Queen street—who, by the way, had fifty-one guests from Hawke’s Bay at his hotel found seventeen empty Baxter’s Lung Preserver bottles in the bedrooms. Perhaps it is merely a coincidence, but it is really surprising that Jlnwke’s Bay should have won by seventeen points Maybe we are a little enthusiastic in claiming that. "Baxter's’ was largely infdnimentnl in the victory. It is significant that the folk of Hawke's Bay, in common with the rest of the people of the Dominion, have a sturdy faith in the efficrev of Baxter’s Lung Preserver. Be-sido; being a splendid rough and cold remedy, '‘Baxter’s" possesses wonderful tonic properties, which help to build up the c.institution. That is one of the reasons why it is so well regarded throughout New Zealand. It ha.s been on the market over fifty-seven years, and the sales have steadily grown by riirer merit.
