The “Daily Express” says Mr Stanley Baldwin at Plymouth is expected to propose all-round protection of Homo industries by a scientific tariff, with no tax on imported wheat or meat, but revenue raised from a tariff on imported menufactures will he devoted', first, to subsidising shipping freights for goods from Australia ana New Zealand, second, to a bounty on c< rn production, and third, to subsidising Empire cotton growing and shipment.
