HABITUAL THIEF

CAUGHT IN SYDNEY. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright, deceived October 23, 8.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, October 23. George Billan, alias Slavich alias Milan, was to-day. sentenced to three years’ imprisonment on each of three charges of receiving stolen property, the proceeds of burglaries. The sentences are concurrent. Records produced showed that lie served long sentences in Wellington, Dunedin and Christchurch for burglary and for other offences, and was declared an habitual criminal by the Dominion authorities.
