WORK ON NEW SCHOOL.
“CONDITIONS ALMOST IDEAL.
Tlio director of the Wellington Technical College (Mr J. H. Howe 111, submitted to the Board of Governors m his report last night, the following extract from the report of the Superintendent of Technical Education, presented to the Minister for Education, and published in the Minister s report for this year:—“Wellington district The conditions of work in the liew bnilding will be nearly ideal so far as lighting, ventilation, ‘and quiet are ccncorned, while the rooms will be sufficiently large to meet all probable developments an methods, of teaching.— In spite, of the many difficulties by vrhich the staff was hampered, duo to the division of the classes between the old and the partially completed wing, of the new buildings, an excellent spirit was observable m the pupils, and the teaching was in the majority of

A full range, of courses was offered, and it is pleasing to note that the principal increases in numbers took plot*e in the boiuescieuce and industrial courses. In spite of the lack of playing-fields, sports were not neglected, while the school cadet company wen for third tune in succession the championship in tlie annual area tournament. Evening clas.se® were conducted in n larce number of subjects with considerable fiuev ci-ss, this school being one of the few in which the entries for ordinary technical classes were in excess of those for the previous year/’
