BOXING
BLACKBURN—VOLAIRE,
With the end of the present boxing season in sight, interest is being well maintained in the tournaments promoted l&cally, and there is every indication of a crowded house for the BlackburnVolaire contest, which is to take place on Tuesday next. Blackburn has recently been taken in hand by Peoples, the Auckland trainer, and is reported to have considerably improved, and if this n so, it appears as if he will give the Frenchman the fight of hie life. At the present time Blackburn is considered to bo the most vigorous exponent in the Dominion, and his exhibitions have always beeij well received locally. Intending should note that the box plan opens this morning, and that th 3 usual system of early door tickets without extfa. charge will be in vogue. In view of the demand for seats in all recent contests and the seating accommodation being inadequate to contain those desiring to attend, an early visit to the box office would appear advisable
