MAINTENANCE CASE
IN RESPECT OF GIRL AGED 22.
MOTHER WANTED HER AT HOME. AUCKLAND, October 20. A mother’s desire to have her daughter at home with her resulted in an application for a maintenance older in tho Magistrate’s Court before Mr J. W. Poynton, S.M. The daughter was 22 years old, and urder a decree of divorce plaintiff had custody of her. Sho was at present in a Christchurch convent but was weak physically and mentally dull. If an order for 30s were made plaintiff could keep her at home. Under crossexamination by Mr J. A. Luxford, plaintiff admitted that sho was leaving for Sydney on tho Manama. She wanted the money for her daughter, not for herself. An order for 15s was made, the money to lie paid through the convent. The magistrate thought it bettor for the girl to remain where she was.
