RIFLE SHOOTING
OLD NAVAXS CLUB. The Old N&vals Rifle Club fired the first match of the club championship, handicap aggregate, and first series at Trentham on Saturday over ranges 300 and 600 yards. Conditions were not for good shooting., the light being rather bad at 600 yards. Rifleman R. Bishop, a 'herdicap man. commenced well, topping th* list with 89, thereby winning the first spoon to be presented in the spoon competition. Other scores are as follow
SUBURBS RIFLE CLUB. The Suburbs Club opened its first oom-> petition for trophies with a shoot at 300 and 600 j ards, 10 shots at each. Rifleman A. Harris made a brilliant 48 at 300 yards, but did not do so well at 600 owing to tlu- rain coming on in the middle of hi* shoot. Next Saturday the club starts the first shoot for the club's championship and Newton cup. ten shots at 300 and 500 yards. The following are Saturday's best scores:— 300 600
