CALL FOR STRONG FORCES. JAPANESE PROBLEM. Australian and N.Z. 's^porifttion (Received October 19, 9.30 p.m.) SAN FRANCISCO, October 18. The conference of the American League voted for the maintenance by the United States of 1 naval, military, and air forces equal to the world’s strongest, and tho extension of naval bases cm the- Pacific Coast, as recommended by Admiral Rodman. The conference also urged that the Japanese problem is a national one, and must be dealt with summarily to prevent a peaceful invasion.
