YOUTH S second lapse, “PAWNED FOR CAR FARE/' Offering the excuse that he had picked up a gold ring at the Central Dining Rooms, and that he had ro intention of stealing it. He attached no particular value to it, and alter carrying it round with him fur a few days pawned it for one shilling, as a result of “being in need of a car fare.” The Magistrate. Mr E. Pago, S.M.. said that a conviction would have to Ik* entered. Chief Detective Kemp explained that a**cu-od iv;s already on probation for a theft of articles some weeks ago.
