YESTERDAY’S SITTING POLICE AND SUMMONS CASES. Mr Ek Page, SAL. presiding at th», Magistrate's Court yesterday, dealt with a long list of i»olice and summons ca.ses. Having keen in custody for purposes of medical observation, on the application of the chief detective, Arthur Alphonse Silvester Joseph Everitt was further remanded until l.riday next, the chief detective intimating that a further remand would probably be applied for. Following upon a remand for sentence. Albert Francis Kennedy, aged 31. and a man whom Sub-Inspector Cummings descrilied as “fond of gambling and not too fond of Work,” was fined <£s, with the option of spending one month ia custody. On the request of the sub-inspector t( remand until Tuesday was granted i* the case of Frank George Henderson, wha appeared for the alleged breach of a maintenance order. SUMMONS CASES*. Appearing on summons. Donald WaT< jace McClure was fined Ids and costs fo* carrying on without a license the busw ness* of a second-hand dealer. Sunday trn ding placed the following defendants under obligation of forfeiting £\ and costs: —Gertrude Osten. Charles Davis. Jessie Green, Knhert Flint. Jean. Harvey. Frank Kelly, Annie Martini. Charles Rossnn, Charles Thomae White, and Agnes Yatnuan. l*’cr » similar offence Emma Morgan Collins was fined 10s and costs. John Henry, for quitting a tram whilet in motion, was fined 10s and costs, and was ordered to pay costs only on 9 charge of trespassing on the railway.
