VENEREAL DISEASES ACT. POLITICAL REASONS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. SYDNEY, October 18. The Chief Secretary and Minister for Health, Mr C. W. Oakes, was attacked by Sir Charles Rosenthal, a member of the Nationalist Party, over the administration of the Venereal Diseases Act?. Sir Charles declared that tho disease was the greatest curse in Australia, but the Act was relegated to obscurity because tho Minister thought that if it functioned it would alienate a. large section of people who voted for the Government.
