NEW POWER HOUSE
READY BY EASTER. MANGAHAO AT END OF YEAR. Tlu .Mayor (Mr 11. A. Wright, M.R.) stated at last night’s meeting of the City Council that the MangaJuio hydroelectric supply would not be available for the city until the end of next year. It w'n-s supposed to i>e ready in Juno next, hut that could hardly be. From the information be had received from Mr Cable (chief electrical engineer and tramways manager), be had every reason to believe that the city’s new power-house at Evans Bay would be ready at least by Easier, assuming that everything went on well as it was doing now.
