HANDICAP TOURNEY DRAT IN BROUGHAM HILL CLUB’S EVENTS. CONTESTS AND HANDICAPS. The drew lor the Brougham Hill Tennis Club's handicap events has been made, and the 'handicaps revised by th> committee. L. France, who won the event last year, and ranked as first player on the Wellington ladder at the end of last season, now owes 10 points, in th? men's singles, so that he has been set a difficult tasls. His brother, D. G. France, wbo has returned from Auckland where be spent last season, is cn scratch, C. F. Williams, a finalist and semi-finalist times out of number, receives 6, N. E. C. Wilson 10, and H. V. Howe 12. In the men's doubles the France brothers owe 10 points, and C. F. Willi am r-H. V. Howe are the scratch pair. In t'he ladies’ singles Miss Arita Howe and Miss May Tracy are on scratch, and in opposite halves of the draw. In the ladies' doubles Mrs Goldie-Miss Tncy, winners of the ohampionship last season, owe 6, and Penlington-Cooke and Mrs Norris-Miss Stevens receive € points. The greatest burden in the combines is carried by L. France-Mi6s Howe (owe 6), while D. G. France-Miss Tracy are the scratch pair. A total of 119 entries was received, 42 in the men's singles, and 19 in the men's doubles, 22 in the ladies' singles and 13 in the doubles; -while there -were 23 entries for the combined doubles. A total of 112 games will have to be played before finality is reached in all events, and the time-limit for the first round will be announced next week.
