TRENTHAM TRACK WORK THE FINAL GALLOPS (By “Carbine.”) There was a lot of galloping at Trentham yesterday morning, all on the inside grass. The going was heavy, and there were no fast tunes. Star Ranger ran seven furlongs in Imin Sflsec, whioh included a pretty smart three furlongs. Star Ranger looks hotter than when he won at Trentham some little time ago. Mantinique and Kilroyal got to the end of four furlongs in ooeec. Kilroyal finished a little ahead of his companion. Laughing Stock ran down three furlongs smartly. Bayana went four furlongs alone, and did not make good time. Piquant and Sunshot went half a mile. Zouave and Suggestion took lmin 37 sec for seven furlongs. The last six furlongs occupied lmin 23 3-ssec. Gold Star and Mountain Crag worked together. Quest beat Scion by a couple of lengths over seven furlongs in lmin 39aee. Last Crust and Kilminster went four furlongs in 55see. Bonnie Heather, Refrigeration, and Black Ronald went six furlongs together, the journey taking lmin 24 1-5 sec. Crishna had Sunart for a companion over four furlongs, run in 40 3-seec. Rene Mavis and Kilria covered half a mile in 54aec. Royal Divorce and Fool’s Paradise ran half a mile in 54sec. Comical and Lochson set out together over the fences. They jumped three hurdles in company, and Comical then went on across two more. Both wont fairly well. Auokland and Enthuse did six furlongs in lmin '2ssec. Listowel and Thespian covered five furlongs in lmin 9jeec. Both went well. Mias O’Dille was responsible for four furlongs in 54sec. Sir Fanciful, Cheer Up, and Petunia jumped four fenoes well. Proclaim jumped five hurdles, giving a faiT exhibition. Bodyguard and Blackhead went four furlongs in 55seo. The one-time crack horseman, C. Jenkins, rode Bodyguard. ! Motley and a couple of others ran down three furlongs. Motley's time was 39 2-Saec.

Waitapu covered the last four furlongs of a gallop in 57secs. Kilbird easily beat Bagdad and Diamond Ring over six furlongs in I min. 23 3-shco. Kilbird’s was a good gallop, and Diamond' Ring, who was last, also went well.

Bonetter and Printemps went seven furlongs in lmin. 38sec.

Handicap and Glaive in the Himutaka Handicap. A. Olliver will be on Fool's Paradise in Wellesley Stakes. H. Wiggins has been engaged to ride Stork in the W.R.C. Handicap. Owing to the serious illness of liis | sister, J. O’Shea will not attend the Wellington meeting. ThU means that another horseman will have to be found for Rouen in the W.R.C. Handicap. Gazeworthy will be ridden in the Shorts by F. McGovern. * M. MdCarten will pilot Alaric in the October Handicap. Hipo will be ridden by H. Wiggins. J. Olsen will take the seat on Bonnie Heather in the’Wainui Handicap. Zouave will be ridden by D. R. Gunn in the W.R.C. Handicap. Miss O’Dille will have the services of J. Olsen in the Wellesley Stakes.
