: FUNDS FOR DEVELOPMENT. £BO,OOO ALREADY SPENT. Australia l * «*WI If,?- Oanlu Association. (Received October 17, 10.10 p.m.) LONDON, October 16. M. Spahlinger attended a meeting at the Ritz Hotel which Baron Rothschild organised to raise funds for the development of the tuberculosis cure. M. Sliahlinger said Sir Stanley Bjrkin had given £20,000. Already £BO,OOO had been spoilt on experiments, and it v'C-uld be deplorable if the results of the .work done was thrown away. “It takes four years tp complete the processes,” said M- Spahliinger, “but with the work already done, if I had a hundred horses it would be possible to treat 3000 patients in 18 months, and to test the serum in every country of the world. I would then publish the formula, enabling serum vaccines to bo produced anywhere. I am anxious that no scrum hurriedly and ineiiiectually prepared shall be put on tho market.
