CITY MOURNS A CAT
Lincoln’s electricity department Is mourning the death of the power station eat.
Since the town was plunged into darkness through the fatal adventures of mice which played too intimately with amperes and volts, a grey tom-cat had helped to keep the electricity works running smoothly. He had succeeded another cat who sat on a rotary transformer and was whirled to death. He was an excellent mouser and a great favourite with the staff. An adventurous animal, he was in the neighbourhood of a high tension cubicle when it was being cleaned. Before it was closed he walked into the cubicle, perhaps in dutiful ,«-earch of mice. It was 11.30 at night. Lincoln’s electric lights, to quote one of the sorrowing officials "gave a blink.” The "blink’’ was the tribute of the town to the passing of a loyal servants
