WELLINGTON RUGBY UNION
LAST NIGHT'S MEETING. QUESTION OF ACCOMMODATION; A meeting of the Wellington Rugby Union was neld last evening, present:— Messrs J. Prendeville (chairman), W. J. Hardham, V.C., G. Jackson, A. Neilison, U. Perry, A. Jackson, H. Murphy, N. Millard, S. Hale, Father Kane, and C. McCoraisky (secretary). It was decided! to credit both Institute and Athletic with a loss in the game played by them owing to Athletic playing an Institute boy who was over age. The championship cannot yet be determined as the clubs have not yet completed the ; rolls of players. A letter was received from the Petono Borough Council acknowledging the union’s cheque for £147 10s, and stating that the council was quite agreeable to treating the £lO for the stop bank ground os a donation to tb*» improvement funds, for which the council thanked the union. An appeal for a subscription or other assistance from the Wellington Free K’ind'errgarten Association is to be considered at the opening of the next season, when Charity Cup Saturday is under consideration The Wellington Citizens' War Memorial Committee wrote thanking the union for its donation of £SO towards the land. The question of granting school caps to boys of Kilbrmie School who played in the representative team this year, twenty in all, was held over for discussion with the schools' delegate. It was agreed to gTant the use of Athletic Park to. the Wellington > Technical Schools’ Athletic Association, for an athletic meeting on November 17th, subject to the ground being in order. Thanks were received from Otago and VVairarapa Rugby Unions thanking Wellington for the hospitality shown to their representatives when in Wellington. The meeting then went into committee to consider matters of accommodation.
