October 14. flic London ‘‘Daily Mai!” syndicate, headed by Lord Rothermcre, has acquired tho Hulton newsnapers and periodicals at a cost of £6,000,000. Amongst the papers acquired hy the ‘•Daily Mail’ proprietary from tho Hulton Trust arc the “Evening Standard.” the “Daily Sketch.” and the “Sunday Herald,” published in London. and several Manchester dailies and weeklies. It is authoritatively stated that Lord Benverbrook has purchased the “Pall Mall Gazette,” which will bo absorbed in the “Evening Standard.”
