HAWKE CRICKET CUP
DATES FOR MATCHES. SUGGESTION BY HOLDERS. Per Press Association. WANGtANUI, October 15. In meeting the five Hawke Cup challengers last season, members of the Wangenui eleven experienced difficulty in obtaining the necessary leave through the matched following one another in quick succession, and also through some dates of the matches being cancelled at short notice, thus leaving the local association without games on holidays. 1o obviate this difficulty during the coming season the Wanganui Cricket Association has drawn up dates for the four Hawke Cup matches as follow: —December sth and 6th, 26th and 27th; January 18th and 19th or 19th and 21st; February 27th and 28th. These dates are to be- submitted to the Zealand Council with a request that they decide the order of challenges and arrange the play at Wanganui on these dates,, providing Wanganui still hold the trophy.
