SENSATIONAL SUICIDE

MILLIONAIRE KILLS HIMSELF. ONE OF ROTHSCHILD FAMILY. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received October 15, 12.5 a.m.) LONDON, October 13. Nathaniel Rothschild, a brother of Lord Rothschild, was found with his throat cut in the bathroom of his country home at Astonwold. At the inquest Dr. Turner said that he received an urgent message from Mrs Rothschild, went to the bathroom and found the door looked on tho inside. He fetched a bailiff and together they forced the door and discovered Rothschild in his pyjamas with his throat cut, and a razor on the table nearby. He knew of no reason why Rothschild should commit 6uicide. He always had been happy and cheerful. Kate Jordan, curator of the Rothschild private museum, said that she came to Astonwold: on Wednesday to see him on a scientific matter and found him depressed. Rothschild frequently exclaimed: “I am going mad!” and spoke of hearing voices. She understood that there had been insanity in tho family. The “Sunday Express'’ says that Nathaniel Rothschild inherited the bulk of his father’s fortune of several millions, as well as the interest in the firm. He practically rebuilt the village of Astonwold in the interests of the tenants.
