BOWLER’S SAD END
SYDENHAM PRESIDENT DIES. COLLAPSES AT OPENING. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, October 13. Mr A. S (Griffiths, who was president of the Sydenham Bowling Club last year, died suddenly from heart failure while watching the games at the opening of tho season this afternoon. Mr Griffiths was sitting on the bank at the time. After he had collapsed, a doctor was summoned, but pronounced life to be extinct. Mr Griffiths, who was a retired painter and papcrlinnger, was about 65 years of age, and had been a prominent member of the Sydenham Bowling Club for a great many years.
All games were immediately stopped
