It was finally agreed that the < net proceeds be handed over to tho Council on the understanding that the domain be improved within its present boundaries. Members said they were surprised that the Council had seen fit to quibble over the matter of the land, and considered the prices were excessive. It was suggested that the Chamber of Commerce should take up the matter, but some members disagreed, and favoured the election of two members of the carnival to wait on tlie Council and point out the high price of land values. it was finally agreed that Messre Dunkley and Ling wait on the Council and speak in support of the recommendation that the sections be not purchased, and that no money be spent outside the present boundary.
