BEEF PRICES MAINTAINED. The prices for better quality beef which have been ruling lately were well maintained at the Westfield fat stock sales this week. Quality was well up to stand* ard, and there was a keen demand. Extra choice ox sold at j£l 17s per 1001 b, choice and prime brought ,£1 14s 6d to £1 16s 6d, ordinary and plain £1 11s to £1 13s 6d. Prime young cow and heifer beef sold at from £1 8s to £1 Us. Full supplies of sheep met with a 6teady demand, there being no change in prices. Heavy prime wethers brought £2 7a to £2 9s 6a, while heavy prime ewes 6old up to £2 4s 6d. Spring lambs were present in increased numbers, with a drop in values. * Extra prime made £1 12b to £1 15s. Pigs showed an increase, choppers and baconers realising from £3 to £6 13s.
