The fight against married women acting a a school teachers in the public schools of England, which has been going on for sorno time, reached a climax recently, when sixty-four married women teachers were discharged from their duties in one of the London suburbs. During tbe war married women were practically the only persons available for teaching, and 6ince then they have kept their jobs, despite tbe efforts of many veterans’ associations to have them expelled in order to allow ex-sorviee men and nurses to resume their positions.
